ORRCON STEEL RACING PIT STOP - July 28, 2010

Evaluation day for Ford Performance Racing bodes well for the enduros

Both Orrcon Steel-backed Ford Performance Racing Falcons took to the Winton Motor Raceway in Victoria last week for an evaluation day with Luke Youlden and James Moffat behind the wheel.

Youlden, who has been a part of the FPR line-up for the past two endurance campaigns, spent a significant part of the day aboard the #5 Orrcon Steel FPR Falcon regularly piloted by Mark Winterbottom.

FPR Team Principal Tim Edwards was pleased with the progress of both Youlden and Moffat throughout the day.

“All of our enduro drivers basically had a car each for the day and completed in excess of 100 trouble free laps, which was very pleasing, “ said Edwards.

“Luke did a couple of extended runs to make sure he got into the groove because he hasn’t done a lot of running in V8s this year. By midway through the day he was right back into the swing of things and it is all looking good for the upcoming endurance races.”

The V8 Supercar Championship Series is in the middle of a mid-season break with the chase for the championship set to resume at Phillip Island in the L&H 500 on September 10-12.
